Caritas ALOC CoRe-II Project observed World Environment Day 2026 on 5 June 2026 at Bhuiyapara Primary School. The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage students, youth, teachers, community members, and local leaders in meaningful climate action and environmental awareness.

The program was organized under the global theme of World Environment Day 2026, “Inspired by Nature, for Climate, for Our Future.” Various activities were conducted to promote environmental conservation and community participation, including a rally, a discussion meeting, and the distribution of fruit-bearing tree saplings.

A total of 120 participants attended the event, comprising students, youth representatives, teachers, community members, and local leaders. The participants actively joined the rally and discussion session, where the importance of environmental protection, climate resilience, and tree plantation was highlighted.

Rev. Fr. Kallan Rengcheng, Assistant Parish Priest of Balukapara Catholic Church, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Clement Chisim, Head Teacher of Balukapara High School, attended the program as the Special Guest. Mr. Harun Rangdi, Chairperson of the Community Disaster Management Committee (CDMC), was also present and shared his views on the importance of community involvement in environmental protection and climate action.

As part of the celebration, fruit-bearing tree saplings were distributed among the participants to encourage tree plantation and contribute to environmental sustainability. The initiative was highly appreciated by the attendees and reinforced the message of protecting nature for a greener and more climate-resilient future.

The program concluded successfully with the active participation and commitment of all stakeholders, reflecting a shared responsibility toward environmental conservation and sustainable development.
